Analisis Kuat Tekan Beton dengan Substitusi Agregat Halus Menggunakan Limbah Batu Bata Merah

This study was conducted to determine the effect of using red brick waste as a substitute for fine aggregate on the compressive strength of concrete, as well as to determine the optimum percentage for a target compressive strength 25 MPa. The method used was a laboratory experiment with 15cm×30cm cylindrical test specimens at substituion rates of 0%, 5%, 10%, and 15%, tested at 14 and 28 days of age. This proves that concrete compressive strength increased with age but decreases with increasing substitution percetange. Normal concrete produced the highest compressive strength of 25,1 MPa and met the design compressive strength. The 10% substitution variation yielded a compressive strength of 24,2 MPa, whic was the value closest to the design compressive strength. Meanwhile, the 5% and 15% variations produced compressive strength of 21,1 MPa and 20,2 MPa, respectively and thus did not meet the requirements. Consequently the addtion of red brick waste to substitute fine aggregate results in a decrease in compressive strength; however, it still has limited potential for use as an altervative material.
