Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze the management practices implemented to improve educational quality at SMA Negeri 2 Sumatera Barat. The research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected from December 2025 to January 2026 through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation involving the principal, vice principals, teachers, and other stakeholders. Data were analyzed through data reduction, presentation, conclusion drawing, and verification, while trustworthiness was ensured through source and method triangulation.The findings reveal that educational quality improvement is managed systematically, strategically, and sustainably. School resources are effectively organized through a clear distribution of roles and responsibilities. Quality enhancement is supported by effective academic learning, character development through the Trilogi S-M-A (School–Mosque–Dormitory), the integration of digital technology in educational processes, and continuous professional development for teachers. In addition, ongoing supervision and evaluation are conducted through academic and non-academic monitoring using a humanistic coaching approach. The study concludes that the integration of management functions and participatory leadership of the principal play a significant role in achieving sustainable educational quality improvement.

Abstrak

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis praktik-praktik manajemen yang diterapkan untuk meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan di SMA Negeri 2 Sumatera Barat. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain studi kasus. Data dikumpulkan pada periode Desember 2025 hingga Januari 2026 melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi partisipatif, dan dokumentasi yang melibatkan kepala sekolah, wakil kepala sekolah, guru, serta pemangku kepentingan lainnya. Data dianalisis melalui reduksi data, penyajian, penarikan kesimpulan, dan verifikasi, sementara keandalan data dijamin melalui triangulasi sumber dan metode. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan kualitas pendidikan dikelola secara sistematis, strategis, dan berkelanjutan. Sumber daya sekolah diorganisasikan secara efektif melalui pembagian peran dan tanggung jawab yang jelas. Peningkatan kualitas didukung oleh pembelajaran akademik yang efektif, pengembangan karakter melalui Trilogi S-M-A (Sekolah–Masjid–Asrama), integrasi teknologi digital dalam proses pendidikan, serta pengembangan profesional berkelanjutan bagi guru. Selain itu, pengawasan dan evaluasi berkelanjutan dilakukan melalui pemantauan akademik dan non-akademik dengan menggunakan pendekatan pembinaan humanistik. Studi ini menyimpulkan bahwa integrasi fungsi manajemen dan kepemimpinan partisipatif kepala sekolah memainkan peran penting dalam mencapai peningkatan kualitas pendidikan yang berkelanjutan.
