The advancement of digital technology in the era of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 and Society 5.0 has brought significant changes to the educational sector, including Islamic higher education. The utilization of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and digital literacy has emerged as two important factors influencing the effectiveness of the learning process. This study aims to examine the relationship between AI utilization, digital literacy, and the learning outcomes of Master's students in Islamic Education (PAI) enrolled in the Classical and Modern History of Islamic Education course. This research employed a quantitative correlational design with a population consisting of all 58 Master's students in the Islamic Education Program (PAI) from the 2024/2025 academic cohort. A total sampling technique was applied. The research instruments included questionnaires to measure AI utilization (15 items) and digital literacy (20 items), while students’ final course grades were used to assess learning outcomes. Data were analyzed using prerequisite tests (normality and linearity), Pearson Product-Moment correlation analysis, and multiple linear regression with the assistance of SPSS version 26. The findings revealed that: (1) there was no significant relationship between AI utilization and learning outcomes (r = 0.198; p = 0.137 > 0.05); (2) there was a positive and significant relationship between digital literacy and learning outcomes (r = 0.368; p = 0.004 < 0.05); and (3) AI utilization and digital literacy simultaneously demonstrated a significant relationship with learning outcomes (F = 5.069; p = 0.010 < 0.05; R² = 0.156). The combined contribution of the two independent variables to learning outcomes was 15.6%. The study concludes that digital literacy plays a more dominant role than AI utilization in influencing students’ learning outcomes.
