Abstract

Students’ understanding of Pancasila values demonstrates a spectrum: some still uphold the spirit of nationalism, while others show signs of decline, leaning toward individualistic, liberal, and egocentric attitudes. This situation leads to reduced positive social interaction in schools and a weakening of the spirit of mutual cooperation. This study aims to examine how Pancasila values can be integrated and internalized through Islamic Religious Education (PAI) as a strategy to strengthen religious moderation among students. The research employed a qualitative method using literature review and content analysis focused on issues of religious moderation and Pancasila. PAI functions not only as a means of delivering religious knowledge but also plays a vital role in shaping character, instilling Pancasila values, and strengthening students’ moderate attitudes. With the support of teachers as role models, PAI learning can serve as an effective ideological safeguard to nurture a generation that is faithful, virtuous, moderate, tolerant, and patriotic.
